The Server Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of virtualization platforms, Windows Server environments, and enterprise server hardware across Huawei, HP, and Dell systems. The role supports reliable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure services for business operations. The position also involves patching, upgrades, capacity planning, incident resolution, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. This description aligns with VMware enterprise support duties, Windows Server engineering responsibilities, and hardware support experience across Huawei, HP, and Dell platforms

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, templates, clusters, and resource pools

  • Support VMware-related technologies such as Aria, vSAN, HCX, and backup/recovery platforms where applicable

  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server platforms, including physical and virtual servers

  • Perform server provisioning, patching, firmware upgrades, OS upgrades, and lifecycle maintenance

  • Manage and support Huawei, HP, and Dell server hardware, including rack and blade servers, storage, and related management tools

  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure incidents, performance issues, and service degradation within SLA targets

  • Coordinate with network, security, application, and vendor teams for implementation and problem resolution

  • Maintain documentation, operational procedures, and technical records

  • Participate in change management, root cause analysis, and disaster recovery testing

  • Provide on-call or after-hours support when required

Who you are

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of experience in technology infrastructure, with a focus on design, implementation, and maintenance

  • Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and virtualization administration

  • Knowledge of VMware Aria and related cloud management/automation tools is an advantage

  • Solid experience with Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, GPO, clustering, event log analysis, and patching

  • Experience supporting enterprise server hardware from Huawei, HP, and Dell

  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, switching, and general infrastructure connectivity

  • Experience with backup, restore, and recovery operations

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications

  • VMware certification such as VCP or higher.

  • Microsoft certification related to Windows Server or infrastructure.

  • Vendor certifications for Huawei, HP, or Dell servers.

  • Experience in enterprise or data center environments.

  • Exposure to ITIL processes and structured change management.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
