Assistant Vice President – Closed-Ended Funds

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

The AVP will be responsible for managing the end-to-end administration of closed-ended fund structures (primarily Private Equity / Real Estate), overseeing fund accounting, investor servicing, and regulatory compliance. The role involves client-facing responsibilities, team oversight, and ensuring high-quality delivery within agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fund Administration & Accounting

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for closed-ended funds, including:
    • Capital calls and distributions
    • NAV calculations and investor allocations
    • Carried interest and waterfall calculations
  • Review financial statements in compliance with IFRS / applicable GAAP

2. Investor Services & Operations

  • Oversee investor onboarding processes (KYC/AML documentation, FATCA/CRS compliance)
  • Review investor notices, capital call and distribution notices
  • Coordinate responses to investor queries in a timely manner
  • Ensure seamless maintenance of investor registers and reporting data

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders
  • Participate in regular client calls, board meetings, and reporting discussions
  • Manage escalations, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction

4. Audit & Regulatory Compliance

  • Coordinate with auditors and manage audit deliverables (PBC lists, supporting schedules)
  • Review and validate compliance documentation prior to client correspondence
  • Support regulatory reporting and filings where applicable

5. Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs and internal control frameworks
  • Work with internal stakeholders (compliance, technology, onboarding teams) to streamline workflows
  • Drive efficiency and reduce operational risk

Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting / Commerce
  • Professional qualification preferred (ACCA / CPA / CA or equivalent)

Experience

  • 6–8 years of experience in fund administration
  • Strong exposure to closed-ended funds (Private Equity / Real Estate)
  • Experience in managing complex fund structures and SPVs

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Fund accounting (capital accounts, waterfalls, carried interest)
    • IFRS standards (particularly financial instruments and disclosures)
    • AML / KYC processes and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with fund systems (e.g., eFront or similar platforms)

Core Competencies

  • Strong client management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively
  • Problem-solving mindset with escalation handling experience
  • Stakeholder management across multiple jurisdictions
