We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer (AVP level) to lead the operations, and lifecycle management of modern, software-defined network (SDN) environments.

This role is responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of enterprise network infrastructure, with a strong focus on fabric-based architectures, lifecycle governance, and automation. The ideal candidate will drive standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the network domain.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Operations & Reliability

  • Oversee day-to-day network operations and ensure service stability.

  • Maintain network uptime in line with SLA targets.

  • Lead troubleshooting of complex issues across:

    • L2/L3 networking

    • Routing and switching domains

    • SDN control and data planes

  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous service improvement.

3. Lifecycle Management & Patching

  • Own end-to-end network lifecycle management, including:

    • OS/firmware upgrades

    • Security patching and vulnerability remediation

  • Plan and execute maintenance activities with minimal impact to business operations.

  • Develop and enforce patching standards, validation procedures, and rollback strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies and audit requirements.

  • Maintain documentation, version control, and asset inventory.

4. Automation & Network Modernization

  • Champion network automation and intent-based networking practices.

  • Develop automation solutions using scripting (e.g., Python) and APIs.

  • Enable zero-touch provisioning and configuration standardization.

  • Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams on infrastructure-as-code initiatives.

5. Security & Compliance

  • Implement network segmentation, access control, and security best practices.

  • Support vulnerability management and remediation processes.

  • Ensure adherence to organizational and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and control reviews.

6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for network incidents and projects.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams.

  • Manage vendor relationships for support, upgrades, and issue resolution.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies and platforms.

  • Solid understanding of:

    • SDN and intent-based networking concepts

    • VXLAN, EVPN, and fabric architectures

    • Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)

    • Switching technologies (VLAN, STP, LACP)

Lifecycle & Operations

  • Proven experience in network lifecycle management, patching, and upgrades.

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Change and incident management

    • Risk assessment and mitigation

    • High-availability environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • 5–10+ years of experience in network engineering roles

  • Experience in large-scale enterprise or regulated environments preferred

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Industry certifications such as:

    • CCNP / CCIE or equivalent

    • HCIP / HCIE or equivalent

    • SDN, cloud networking, or automation certifications
