The Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on AVP, Senior Engineering Lead to join the Corporate Internet Banking Platform (CIBP) technology team.

This role will work closely with the Engineering Lead and be responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of strategic platform capabilities across digital channels and business domains. The successful candidate will combine strong engineering expertise, banking domain knowledge, architecture experience, and delivery leadership to help build secure, scalable, and modern digital banking solutions.

The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, Business Analysts, and engineering teams across multiple delivery streams.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Engineering Lead to execute the technology strategy and architecture roadmap for the Corporate Internet Banking Platform.
• Lead solution design and engineering delivery for assigned business domains and digital channel capabilities.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable, and secure technology solutions.
• Drive architecture, design reviews, code reviews, and implementation governance to ensure high engineering quality and adherence to platform standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to developers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Review and challenge solution designs, technical specifications, and implementation approaches to ensure alignment with architecture standards and business objectives.
• Support the adoption of Microservices Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, API-First Design, Micro Frontend (MFE), DevSecOps, and modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate with domain teams across Payments, Accounts, Entitlements, Approvals, Notifications, Dashboard, and Shared Services to ensure consistency of design and implementation.
• Drive engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD, observability, secure coding, resiliency engineering, and performance optimization.
• Contribute to AI-assisted software engineering initiatives using Claude Code, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, and Agentic AI development tools.
• Support release planning, production readiness reviews, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and coach engineers and junior technical leads while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and accountability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong experience delivering Corporate Internet Banking, Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Payments, Digital Banking, or Corporate Banking platforms.
• Strong understanding of banking domains including:
• Proven experience designing and building enterprise-scale applications using:
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Experience with UI and Digital Channel technologies including:
• Good understanding of:
• Demonstrated ability to review code, identify design issues, guide developers, and maintain high engineering quality standards.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders and Business Analysts to refine requirements and define implementation approaches.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native deployment practices is preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with AI-assisted software engineering tools including:
• Experience in Agile software delivery methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps operating models.
• Relevant certifications in Java, Cloud, Architecture, Agile, Security, or AI Engineering will be an added advantage.
