Lancashire County Council is expanding its Children's Residential Service and is looking for a compassionate and motivated Children's Home Assistant Manager to join our dedicated team.

We believe every child deserves more than just a place to live – they deserve a safe, nurturing home where they can thrive, build positive relationships, and achieve their full potential. If you're committed to improving the lives of children and young people, we'd love to hear from you.

To ensure effective management cover, you will work within the home's core operating hours of 7:00am–7:00pm, undertaking alternating shifts of:

7:00am – 3:00pm

11:00am – 7:00pm

We welcome applications from experienced Assistant Managers as well as residential care, youth work, and social care professionals who are ready to take the next step into their first management role. We will provide the support and development needed to help you succeed.

What You'll Bring

Passion for Children and Young People

You'll be driven by a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people. With integrity, compassion, and strong values at the heart of your practice, you'll help create a positive environment where children feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Creativity and Innovation

You'll encourage fresh thinking and creative approaches to supporting children who may have experienced significant challenges. Working with colleagues and partner agencies including social care, education, health services, and the police, you'll identify solutions that help young people flourish.

Leadership and Resilience

This is a rewarding but demanding role that requires emotional resilience and strong leadership skills. You'll support and motivate your team, helping them navigate challenges while maintaining high standards of care. In return, you'll benefit from extensive professional support including supervision, reflective practice sessions, psychological support, and ongoing training.
