Role: Assistant Treasurer (reporting to Group Treasurer)

Location: Windsor, UK

Main purpose of job

Plays a key role within the Group Treasury function, supporting the Group Treasurer with management of all day to day aspects of the group’s funding requirements with respect to funding, liquidity, cash, trade finance, foreign exchange and interest rate management. Develops strong relationships with the group’s banks and debt holders, helps to develop and implement treasury strategies, solutions and policies. Helps to mentor other Group Treasury staffing and develops strong relationships with the wider business to drive an improved understand of Group Treasury and best practice.

Responsibilities

Main Assistant Treasurer Responsibilities

  • To assist in implementation of the group debt strategy, owning the day to day process to ensure full compliance with the financial covenants, understanding all the related issues and working with the group and the banks to ensure full compliance.
  • To lead on implementation of Treasury projects, including (but without limitation) the implementation of projects such as Receivables Factoring and Supply Chain Finance.
  • To manage the day to day debt/cash position of the Group particularly in relation to the group’s existing Revolving Credit Facility and Debt Facilities. Cash management for the group, ensuring optimum levels of cash in the business and extracting cash in an efficient manner, working closely with Group Tax department.
  • To identify actual and forecast currency exposures of the group (both internal and external), managing the exposures in line with the Group’s foreign exchange policy. Providing training and reporting to the wider Group to assist in developing understanding of these exposures. To propose enhancements to foreign exchange policy.
  • To provide day to day reporting of the interest position of the group, assisting in proposing, implementing and evaluating hedging strategies as appropriate.
  • To develop strong day to day relationships with the group’s banks and debt holders. Supporting the Group Treasurer as appropriate.
  • Subject matter expert for accounting disclosures relating to Treasury in the annual and interim group accounts, driving improvements to the way we account and supporting the share service centre as appropriate. Day to day point of contact for external and internal auditors for treasury related matters.
  • Ownership of routine reporting provided by Group Treasury including Quarterly Report, Going Concern, WACC. Driving improvements to those processes where possible.
  • To run an efficient dealing operation (cash management and foreign exchange) and acting as dealer when required. Proposing enhancements to process where applicable.
  • To act as a source of advice to the business as required, in particular advising on hedging of risks (actual and potential), ensuring major bids are in accordance with the banking agreements and advising on financing structures for funded customer projects. To develop business understanding of Group Treasury and the associated risks through provision of training and routine business partnering.
  • To work with other central finance/corporate departments to ensure complete understanding of issues, delivering “joined up” solutions and advice to the business.
  • To line manage the Treasury Analyst. To mentor other staff within the Treasury team.
  • To assist in negotiation documentation in relation to all treasury transactions as required.
  • Qualifications

    Ideal Business Experience

    • Experience in a major international treasury function.
    • Experience of dealing with banks and debt holders.
    • An understanding of financing agreements.
    • Deep understanding of Treasury accounting.
