Primary Purpose:
To ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant operation, maintenance, and repair of mobile equipment and vehicles within assigned facilities or portfolios. This role supports business continuity by minimizing downtime through proactive servicing, rapid response to breakdowns, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mobile Equipment Maintenance & Repair:Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of mobile assets (e.g., forklifts, utility vehicles, electric carts, light-duty fleet vehicles). Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to identify root causes of malfunctions. Replace or repair defective parts, including engines, transmissions, batteries, tires, brakes, and control systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance Programs:Execute and document preventive maintenance (PM) tasks according to manufacturer guidelines and internal service schedules. Monitor equipment performance trends and recommend adjustments to PM intervals or procedures to enhance reliability.
  • Compliance & Safety:Ensure all work complies with OSHA, local regulations, manufacturer specifications, and JLL/client safety protocols. Conduct pre-operational safety inspections and certify equipment as fit-for-use. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety standards related to mobile equipment operation and servicing.
  • Service Coordination & Documentation:Log all service activities, parts used, labor hours, and inspection results in the designated Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Coordinate with vendors or external service providers for specialized repairs or warranty work when required. Maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and tools; initiate reorder requests as needed.
  • Emergency Response & Downtime Reduction:Provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational disruption. Implement temporary fixes where appropriate to restore critical functionality until permanent repairs can be completed.
  • Technical Support & Collaboration:Advise operations and facility staff on proper use, care, and limitations of mobile equipment. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and client teams to align technical services with broader facility goals.
  • Continuous Improvement:Recommend upgrades, replacements, or process improvements to enhance equipment lifespan, efficiency, or safety. Participate in training sessions to stay current with emerging technologies (e.g., electric/hybrid mobile platforms).

Qualifications (Typical Requirements):

  • Technical diploma or certification in automotive, diesel, or industrial mechanics.
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing mobile industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand/power tools, and CMMS software.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate various mobile equipment types (as permitted by local regulations).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
