Job Description

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Georgetown University invites applications for TWO one-year, full-time, non-tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to begin in August 2026.

The teaching load is 4 courses per semester of Spanish language and culture, with teaching and advising responsibilities at the undergraduate level. Additional responsibilities include departmental service.

We are looking for candidates with specializations in Literature, Cultural Studies or Linguistics in Spanish. Position requires native or near-native Spanish, excellence in teaching, and the ability to teach language and culture at all levels.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Spanish or a related field is required prior to the appointment start date. Candidates must show a strong promise of excellence in teaching.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $59,750.46-$66,389.40. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
