SALARY RANGE: $60,300 - $68,800/year

The Department of Emergency and Disaster Health Systems (EDHS) at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) (http://edhs.umbc.edu) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor beginning August 2026. We seek a dynamic educator to join our newly updated curriculum, which addresses the evolving landscape of emergency and disaster health. The Assistant Teaching Professor responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction across online, hybrid, and in-person formats, including clinical courses; leading clinical simulations and laboratory training; developing innovative, evidence-based course materials and assessments; providing academic and professional mentorship to students, including capstone oversight; and engaging in departmental, college, and university service, including accreditation maintenance.
Assistant Teaching Professors teach four courses in the Fall semester and four courses in the Spring semester each academic year. Initial appointments are multi-year contracts with eligibility for renewal and promotion within the teaching faculty ranks. Potential summer teaching for additional compensation may be available.
