Job Description

Oak Hill is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Assistant Teacher I (ATI) to provide hands-on classroom support to individuals with Developmental and other Disabilities. This person will inspire others and make a life changing impact while achieving professional growth and personal fulfillment. About the Position:
The Substitute Assistant Teacher is required to work an average of 15 hours a month and provides support to Special Education Teachers in the classroom, preparing lessons, teaching students, providing direct support assistance. The Substitute AT will assist with behavior management during lessons, tracking students’ behavior and setting up classroom materials before class as assigned. Applicants with no experience and interested in entering the education or direct care field with a desire to serve people with disabilities, or individuals seeking a career change are encouraged to apply to this position.

Before you apply for an internal transfer, it is expected that you will familiarize yourself with the position you are applying for, such as the driving distance, schedule, and the nature of the group home or classroom. It is recommended that you reach out to the program manager to get an understanding of the program before you commit to applying for a job there. If granted, you will be committing to the new position for a minimum of six months before you are eligible to request another transfer.
