Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with early childhood learning standards
• Help maintain a welcoming classroom where children feel secure, respected, and encouraged to explore
• Assist in promoting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through structured and unstructured activities
• Support classroom routines and positive behavior management under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
• Help observe and document children's growth, behaviors, and learning progress using appropriate tools and methods
• Assist in building strong partnerships with families through daily communication and support during parent-teacher conferences
• Follow all health, hygiene, and safety protocols, including maintaining a clean and organized classroom
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, fellow staff, and administrators to support school goals and best practices
• Help modify and adapt activities to accommodate children with diverse learning needs and developmental levels
• Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and staff meetings to stay current with early childhood education trends

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Previous experience in a preschool or child care learning facility (preferred, not always required for entry-level Assistant Teacher roles)
• Preferred knowledge of childcare licensing requirements
