The Learning Experience is looking for enthusiastic, nurturing, and dependable Assistant Teachers to help create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

What You'll Do

• Partner with Lead Teachers to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom where children can play, learn, and grow
• Support the implementation of TLE's L.E.A.P. Curriculum® through hands-on activities and developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Help support the unique developmental needs of infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children
• Provide attentive, nurturing care while ensuring children's safety, comfort, and everyday needs are met
• Assist with daily routines, including diapering, feeding, dressing, and other age-appropriate caregiving needs
• Encourage children's social-emotional development, communication, independence, and positive interactions
• Keep children actively engaged through play, exploration, and meaningful learning experiences
• Support Lead Teachers in communicating with families about children's daily activities, progress, and milestones
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and fellow team members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Collaborate with center leadership and colleagues to support enrollment, retention, and family engagement
• Follow all applicable New York State childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework preferred
• Previous childcare or early childhood education experience preferred
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
• A positive attitude, growth mindset, and willingness to learn
• Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
• Patience, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy classroom
• Ability to recognize potential safety concerns and respond appropriately
• Must meet applicable New York State requirements for the role, including background screening, health, immunization, and required training requirements

This position requires active supervision of young children by sight and sound and the ability to participate in classroom and outdoor activities. Physical responsibilities may include standing and walking for extended periods, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, climbing, and safely lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds. Employees may work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including temperatures ranging from 20°F with wind chill to 95°F.
