Assistant Teacher – The Learning Experience River Vale Pay: $17 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Location: The Learning Experience – River Vale, NJ

About the Role

The Learning Experience – River Vale is seeking a dependable and caring Assistant Teacher to support our early childhood classrooms. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to grow their career in a daycare or preschool setting.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside a Lead Teacher to help create a warm, supportive learning environment where children feel safe, engaged, and excited to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines and activities.
  
  
• Help supervise children to ensure a safe and nurturing environment.
  
  
• Support classroom learning using age-appropriate play, storytelling, art, and hands-on activities.
  
  
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
  
  
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
  
  
• Assist with mealtimes, diapering/toileting (as age appropriate), transitions, and daily routines.
  
  
• Communicate any classroom needs or concerns to the Lead Teacher and Center Leadership Team.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (minimum requirement).
  
  
• Experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, babysitting, or camp setting preferred.
  
  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  
  
• Knowledge of basic early childhood practices is helpful, but training is provided.
  
  
• Must meet all New Jersey childcare licensing requirements.
