Job Description

Assists in supervising and providing direct support to the front-line team members and handling day-to-day Lab operations, which includes accurate and continuous surveillance, analysis and interpretation of patient's heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters for both in-patients and out-patients. Will be assigned duties by the Operations Supervisor or Manager including, but not limited to, policy enforcement, corrective action, scheduling, performance appraisals, payroll emulation, etc. May have oversight for new employee development and educational activities, responsible to enhance clinical and educational skills of new and existing personnel within the laboratory. Assists the Operations Supervisor or Manager to ensure an effective, safe, customer-focused, skillful caring and managed delivery of care to all patients. Has an in-depth understanding of Mayo Clinic CV Lab policies, procedures, and daily assignments are carried out in accordance with these established policies and procedures. May be directly responsible for working with process groups or overseeing processes within the organization. May be required to work with or coordinate operational activities with other internal departments, such as: Business Office, Public Affairs, Compliance, Information Technology, Education, Legal Department, and Human Resources. Is involved with direct patient care as a HRPML technician by filling in for team members/shifts that are under-staffed or needing special procedures. Monitors team needs and fatigue of team members to ensure that all team members are fit for duty. Depending on assignment, may work day, evening or night shifts.

High School Diploma with 3 years of health related/clinical experience; or Associate's degree in a health field and 1 year of relevant CV experience is required.

Strong electrocardiogram interpretation background is required. Must have demonstrated leadership, communication, problem solving and organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task efficiently and able to work independently. Basic knowledge of computer application required. Prior experience in a leadership role is preferred.

Licensure or Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
