The Assistant Superintendent at Skanska supports on-site field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and profitably. Reporting to the Superintendent, the role requires regular on-site presence to supervise the labor force, enforce Skanska’s Safety and Health Management Program, conduct quality inspections, and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors. The position emphasizes leadership, organization, time management, and client-facing communication.

Core responsibilities include day-to-day supervision of field crews, inspecting subcontractor work for contract compliance, developing and maintaining site logistics and short-term schedules, monitoring labor and material costs, preparing superintendent daily reports, and participating in project meetings. The Assistant Superintendent also reviews trade contractor payment applications with leadership, tracks change orders and tickets, and mentors team members to support an injury-free environment.

Required experience includes at least three years in construction and safety/QC administration. Preferred qualifications include assisting with subcontractor oversight, scheduling, site logistics, CO tracking, and working with plans and specs, Procore certification, CMIT, familiarity with electrical construction practices, and working knowledge of tools like Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, BIM 360, Prolog, Primavera P6, and JD Edwards. Competencies focus on logistics, quality management, safety enforcement, and subcontractor oversight.

Assistant Superintendent Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of proven construction experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience administering safety and QC policies with the ability to learn the Skanska Safety and QAQC Culture.
  • 1+ year working with schedule milestones and look-ahead schedules.
  • 1+ year assisting with job site logistics and management.
  • 1+ year tracking COs and tickets.
  • 1+ year working with plans and specs.
