& Position Summary
This role supports the daily execution of residential construction activities for assigned homes or phases. Working under moderate supervision, this position coordinates trade partners, monitors quality, and ensures homes are built according to schedules, safety standards, and company quality expectations. This role may provide guidance to laborers and junior field staff, collaborates with internal teams, and supports inspections and homeowner interactions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily construction activities, inspections, and subcontractor work.
- Monitor jobsite quality, cleanliness, and adherence to safety programs, including OSHA requirements.
- Track construction progress and report updates, delays, or issues to the Superintendent.
- Assist with preparation for municipal inspections, walk-throughs, and Certificates of Occupancy.
- Observe work for compliance with construction plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Support the execution of homeowner orientations and address minor construction-related issues in coordination with sales or management.
- Maintain accurate jobsite documentation, schedules, inspection records, and construction logs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience in residential construction, field operations, or related onsite work.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree or higher in construction management or related field; or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Understanding of residential construction processes and building practices.
- Ability to interpret basic construction documents and scopes of work.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clarify information and coordinate onsite activities.
- Problem-solving abilities to address routine issues using established procedures.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and site priorities.
- Commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with trade partners and internal teams.
- Basic proficiency with construction management software, mobile applications, and MS Office.
- Attention to detail in documenting progress, issues, and inspection requirements.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, changing jobsite conditions.
- Ability to communicate and interact with customers effectively.
- Self-motivated and possess strong work ethic.
Working Conditions
- Work performed primarily on active residential construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and uneven surfaces.
- Occasional work in a general office environment for meetings, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- Regular travel between communities, job sites, and local municipal offices may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk construction sites and navigate uneven terrain
- Ability to stand and move for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed
- Ability to visually inspect construction work and details
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
