Primary Objective

The Assistant Superintendent supports Team Wilson’s field operations by working directly with superintendents to keep projects on schedule and running efficiently. This role helps source and deliver materials, conduct job site visits, and support day-to-day field operations. It is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who is dependable, resourceful, and thrives in a construction environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support superintendents with daily field operations and project coordination across active job sites.
  • Procure, pick up, and deliver materials, supplies, and equipment accurately and on time.
  • Conduct job site visits to assess conditions, access points, and upcoming material or logistical needs; communicate findings to the superintendent or project manager.
  • Maintain records of purchases, receipts, and material deliveries according to company standards.
  • Assist with quality control checks and punch list completion under superintendent guidance.
  • Represent Team Wilson professionally with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and adjusters in the field.
  • Handle miscellaneous field duties, errands, and logistical support to keep projects moving.
  • Participate in after-hours or on-call support when needed for emergency or time-sensitive projects.

Role Boundaries

  • Supports field production after projects are sold and handed off; does not perform sales or business development activities.
  • Does not create project scopes, develop insurance estimates, negotiate with adjusters, or manage contracts.
  • Does not independently direct subcontractors or make binding commitments without superintendent approval.
  • Material procurement and vendor coordination are completed in support of the superintendent and project team.

Working Relationships

  • Division Manager: Direct supervisor providing overall direction.
  • Superintendents: Daily field direction; role acts as an extension of the superintendent on job sites.
  • Project Managers: Assists with coordination, communication, and documentation.
  • Vendors & Suppliers: Coordinates material sourcing and delivery logistics.
  • Subcontractors: Assists with communication and coordination under superintendent direction.
  • Customers: Maintains a professional and courteous presence during site interactions.

Qualifications

  • Construction, trades, or field support experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, trade sequencing, and job site operations preferred.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Physical & Field Requirements

  • Ability to travel regularly between job sites, supplier locations, and field destinations.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
  • Able to lift, carry, and transport materials and supplies as needed.
  • Comfortable navigating ladders, unfinished structures, and restricted-access job sites.
  • Flexible availability, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on project needs.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role is measured by timely material delivery, proactive support of superintendent operations, strong communication, organized record keeping, and helping projects stay on schedule. Top performers anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and demonstrate professionalism and dependability in the field.
Compensation: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
