STUDENT ACCOMMODATION SECTION

The Office of Student Affairs invites applications for the post of Assistant Student Housing Officer in the Student Accommodation Section, which manages around 3,700 on-campus residential places and provides comprehensive residential education in the context of whole-person development to students.

Assistant Student Housing Officer (Hostel Operation) (25260719)

The appointee is expected to provide operational, administrative and logistical support for the day-to-day operations of the Student Accommodation Section. Working outside normal office hours may be required on a need basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for daily hostel operations, as well as hostel-related activities and programmes;
  • Support counter services, system management, office hotline operations, and general administrative duties;
  • Liaise with outsourced contractors and relevant University departments on matters relating to hostel operations and office maintenance;
  • Manage check-in, check-out, room change arrangements, defect rectification, and room inspections;
  • Handle room preparation during regular semesters and summer letting period, including preparation of check-in/out documents and materials;
  • Assist with enquiries of facility reservations and follow up users on booking updates and preparation arrangements;
  • Handle enquiries, perform data entry, and prepare and retrieve reports; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • A recognised diploma or above with relevant work experience;
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Excel, and both English and Chinese word processing;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with a professional manner;
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team;
  • Relevant experience in hostel operations or customer service would be an advantage; and
  • Willingness to work outside regular office hours as required.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a two‑year fixed‑term contract. Reappointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and satisfactory performance.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
