As an Assistant Retail Store Manager, Back-of-House (BOH) Operations at Brooks, you support the leadership of a Brooks brand store and work closely with the Retail Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, FOH to deliver the premium service experience customers expect. You help lead and inspire the store team, ensuring every customer interaction reflects our mission to inspire everyone to run and be active. Your primary focus is operational excellence. You oversee smooth daily operations, create staff schedules, support physical inventories, manage incoming and outgoing inventory, lead seasonal product flips, and help drive sales through strong product storytelling and seamless store execution. You partner with the Assistant Store Manager, FOH to ensure the team is fully trained on all store operations, opening and closing procedures, and POS operations. As the store’s resident product expert, you lead product knowledge training and empower the team to deliver confident, informed recommendations that support customers of all backgrounds and abilities.
Manage labor spend through educated scheduling choices.
Coach, develop, and manage performance of the store team to provide a premium level of service to our consumers; train staff to treat everyone entering the store, from elite athletes to first-time runners, with the same degree of enthusiasm, support, and acceptance regardless of their abilities.
Encourage an environment of sharing excitement about the run, storytelling, and supporting people’s efforts to “Live Brooks” through being active and staying healthy.
Create store schedules for effective staffing before, during, and after business hours.
Monitor store cleaning and operations supplies and place all supply orders.
Place inventory orders and partner with the Brooks Distribution Center to manage inventory flow when the Store Manager is on scheduled PTO.
Manage receipt and return of all inventory coming to and from the store – this includes regular orders, RMAs, and transfers.
Manage back-end responsibilities for returned unsellable inventory.
Facilitate quarterly product training for sales associates.
Work the sales floor – be an expert at product knowledge, driving sell-through, and service-oriented storytelling.
Provide feedback and analysis to the Store Manager and Manager, Retail Operations on a regular basis to ensure the store is operating at the high level of service and performance that customers expect.
Compensation: The pay range for this position is $48,401 - $67,787 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
