Job Description

Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting for an Assistant Solicitor to join a busy Private Client department, in a successful and progressive law firm in Northampton.

Key Tasks:

  • Managing a full caseload of private client matters including Wills, Probate and Estate Management, Lasting Powers of Attorney, drafting legal documents and all other related tasks,

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified Solicitor (NQ to 5 years PQE), Legal Executive or experienced Private Client fee earner.
  • Proven experience handling a broad private client caseload.
  • Strong technical knowledge of wills, probate and estate administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in dealing directly with clients and third parties.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • IT Literate with the ability to learn and use case management systems effectively.

Desirable Skills:

  • STEP qualification or working towards STEP.
  • Experience of trusts and complex estate planning.
  • Marketing, networking or departmental growth
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience.

Benefits

Salary up to £75,000 pa depending on PQE + Benefits
