We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Site Superintendent for our Lansdowne 2.0 Project in Ottawa.

As the Assistant Site Superintendent, you will be in the field responsible for on-site construction activities. You will help to oversee day-to-day site operations, manage field staff and trade partners, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor field staff on-site while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment;

  • Manage daily construction activities and ensure adherence to project plans and schedules;

  • Maintain strict safety standards and lead by example in promoting a safe work environment;

  • Collaborate effectively with subcontractors and trade partners, building positive working relationships that drive project success;

  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety meetings, and quality control checks;

  • Resolve on-site issues in collaboration with the project manager, consultants, and client representatives;

  • Monitor progress against the project schedule and regularly report on status;

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages open communication and mutual respect among all team members.


Requirements


  • Minimum three years in related role (e.g. project coordinator, assistant project manager);

  • Must have a Gold Seal Certification or equivalent professional designation;

  • OHSA certification and other relevant safety training;

  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal requirements;

  • Lean construction or other methodology experience;

  • Proven success leading large-scale commercial, institutional, and high-rise building projects;

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, and scheduling;

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills;

  • Ability to foster collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders;

  • Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools;

  • Ability to work full-time on-site.
