About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and safety-focused Assistant Shift Leader to join our manufacturing team. Working within a hazardous manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in delivering production plans safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
As part of a shift team, you will help ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver daily and weekly production plans in line with site requirements for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people standards.
Operate manufacturing processes in accordance with approved operating procedures and quality requirements.
Support the Shift Leader in managing resources and responding effectively to changing production demands.
Act as a site incident responder during emergency situations.
Monitor plant performance and troubleshoot issues within the scope of the role.
Support continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing area and contribute to wider site improvement initiatives.
Coach and support colleagues to improve team capability and performance.
Act as a nominated Permit to Work (PTW) Issuer, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work within the production area.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and environmental performance.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience working in a manufacturing, production or process environment.
Ideally has experience in a hazardous or safety-critical environment.
Is committed to following procedures and maintaining high safety standards.
Can work effectively as part of a busy team to achieve production targets.
Has strong problem-solving skills and can respond effectively to operational issues.
Is comfortable working in a physically demanding role, including lifting, climbing stairs and working in confined spaces.
Is willing and able to work a 24/7 shift pattern.
