Job Description
The role of an Assistant Security Manager is to be a proactive, responsible, and trustworthy leader who takes ownership of Safety and Security at all times. As the Assistant Security Manager, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Planning Activities
- Review schedules and annual holidays to ensure the smooth running of the department and ensuring that resources are in place as per the demands of the business.
- Assist the hotel in complying the Fire Safety Regulations and internal policies.
- Assist the hotel to comply with the Health and Safety Regulations and internal policies.
- To ensure a minimum of 3 tours of the building and carried out per 24 hours for the purpose of Hotel Security, fire prevention and safe means of escape.
- In alignment with the Safety & Security Manager liaise with Departmental Heads to ensure hotel team members are aware of their responsibilities in relation to security. Provide appropriate assistance and advice which on occasions may include training where necessary at team members induction.
- Assist in planning, delivery and facilitation of regular team members awareness training.
- Assist in the monitoring of Safety and Security related programs for overall hotel including lost and found process, auditing of issuance of hotel keys, First Aid and Fire Safety training, Manager on Duty schedules, evacuation drills, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of the layout of the building, function rooms, and relevant knowledge of the city, surrounding area and events.
Organizing Activities
- Assist in organizing, deploying and supervising all allocated resources in such a way as to secure optimal performance and achievement of operational targets.
- Assist in the supervision and motivation of all assigned team members.
- Liaise with the Safety & Security Manager and Hotek Manager daily to ascertain what is happening in hotel and locally.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities, interviewing witnesses, obtaining signatures and retaining relevant evidence.
- Plan and schedule the day-to-day activities of the security personnel to manage all hotel areas to ensure they are adequately secured at all appropriate times.
- Plan, co-ordinate and implement Health and Safety Policies within the department in liaison with the Hotel's Safety & Security Manager / Health and Safety Manager.
- Ensure hotel complies with Hilton's Security Manual and assist on the plan to ensure maximum implementation of all policies.
- Assist in conducting quarterly internal security audits to ensure compliance with Hilton's Global Security Manual.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly security reports to identify security trends and monitor the successfulness of the department.
- Assist in the recruitment and review of security officers to maintain order throughout the hotel. Assist in training new team members according to all corporate specifications including documentation.
- Assist in assigning duties and schedules for team members, balancing needs of hotel and productivity standards. Assist in monitoring team members activity, coach and develop for performance.
- Assist in the management and security for events within Hotel or external threats to the Hotel, maintaining the organization's stability and reputation by managing risk and complying with legal requirements.
Directing Activities
- Assist in the co-ordination of additional security personnel for conference and event functions.
- Assist and organize the systematic patrolling of all boundary areas, bedrooms, offices, storage areas, public areas and function rooms.
- Assist investigations and report upon any thefts within the hotel using your discretion in connection with any of these matters that you deem should be reported to the police.
- Assists in the direction and co-ordination of all security personnel, engaged in the implementation of safety and security procedures for the department and provide any possible assistance and advice to other departments in relation to security.
- Assist in hotel locker and personnel searches/inspections in line with internal policies.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
- Undertake the above duties in such a way as to protect and enhance the reputation and public profile of Hilton.
Controlling Activities
- Report any suspicious activity, thefts or criminal activity to the Safety & Security Manager or Hotel Manager.
- Assist in the preparation of incident reports, inter departmental memorandums, training plans and ensure all allegations are property followed up.
- Assist in monitoring performance of security personnel, check records of security department to determine need for action of follow up work; maintain standard of departmental performance.
- Be fully conversant of national and company anti-terrorist strategies and convey to all employees via appropriate training.
- Be fully conversant with hotel Fire and Emergency procedures.
- Assist in the management of key control within all departments.
- In the Safety & Security Manager absence take ownership and responsibility for all aspects of Safety and Security within the Hotel.
- Ensure interactions and behavior are ethical, non-bias and proportionate and upholds the missions and values of Hilton hotels.

An Assistant Safety & Security Manager serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
- College graduate or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in security and fire control fields.
- More than 5 years of working experience in management.
- Certified Fire Safety Administrator and Chief Security issues by National Vocational Qualification Certification.
- Proficient with safety measure in accordance with national law and regulations as well as local rules and regulations of the city.
- Knowledgeable of hotel security management and etiquette.
- Able to deal with emergency cases and incidents.
- Able to maintain good relationships with public security organizations as well as departments in the hotel.
- Proficient in verbal and written communications.
- Able to prepare business documents.
- Capable of training team members.
- Literacy in English to meet business needs and preferred.
