Children of America (COA) is looking for an Assistant School Director who is ready to lead, grow, and make a real impact.

This is an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and into a true leadership role where you'll help lead a team, influence school performance, support families, and gain hands-on experience across all areas of school operations.

Most importantly, this role can be your next step toward becoming a School Director.

You'll work closely with the School Director and COA's regional leadership team while developing the skills and experience needed to take your career to the next level.

Compensation & Incentives

$50,000–$60,000 base salary + variable pay incentives

We recognize that great leaders make a difference. Compensation is based on experience, skills, location, and internal equity, with opportunities for additional performance-based incentives.

What Makes a Great COA Assistant School Director?

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has 2–4 years of leadership experience
  • Has at least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare/early childhood setting
  • Has an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, as required by the state
  • Is confident leading, coaching, and motivating a team
  • Builds strong relationships with teachers, families, and leadership
  • Is organized, proactive, and comfortable making decisions
  • Can handle challenges with professionalism and a solutions-focused mindset
  • Has a strong understanding of early childhood education
  • Is committed to professional development and continued growth
  • Meets all applicable state licensing requirements
