Overview:
Our client is one of the top hotel chains in Barbados with a high number of repeat visitors every year due to excellent customer service and facilities. Due to expansion, they are seeking to appoint a proven professional to assist the Sales Manager and contribute to the revenue generation for the Hotel chain.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively handles/manages all communications surrounding groups inspecting or meeting on property.
Where assigned, represent the Hotel at road shows, trade fairs, educational seminars, BHTA and BTA sponsored events.
Handles site inspections.
Arranges to do sales calls sponsored by the BTA, travel agents and corporate clients.
Prepares the annual plans and actions for the designated markets to meet/exceed the sales goals of the department.
Develops a monthly plan to make sales calls to local businesses.
Checks reservations and VIP guest requirements for groups and customer site inspections.
Keeps the Banquets, Accounts and Reservations departments fully informed about developments or changes as they relate to group business.
Maintains a close working relationship with Reservations, Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services and Food & Beverage departments to ensure a smooth coordination of hotel services.
Demonstrate by example the culture of customer service daily.
Adheres to company policies, standards and procedures including Health & Safety, Fire Prevention and Discipline.
Requirements
Minimum BSc. In Hospitality or Sales/Business related discipline.
3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role in the Hospitality sector.
Strong MS-Office skills (Word/Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills.
Familiar with OTA’s a distinct advantage.
Exposure to hotel booking systems is a distinct advantage.
Clean driving license/Own a reliable vehicle.
