Safety Assistant
Schedule: M-F 8:00 am -5:00 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Facilitates entering all training records into HRIS (YEARLY OSHA TRAINING, NEW HIRE TRAINING, SPECIALIZED SAFETY TRAINING).
• Respond to expiring certification (DOT CARD/FORKLIFT LICENSE/ AUTO DECLARATION PAGE) email and disseminate information and follow up with applicable managers to maintain compliance.
• Maintains certifications for driver’s licenses, taxable auto insurance and DOT cards and records information into HRIS system and files original copies with HR.
• Maintains records for all incidents, injury, accident claims for general liability/ automotive/worker’s compensation and enters all necessary information into the HRIS system.
• Works in conjunction with Human Resource generalist to maintain all driver DOT files.
• Completes all DOT verifications for all Florida locations.
• Responds to all potential license issue notifications, communicates those issues with applicable managers in addition to maintaining tracking spreadsheet.
• Add all drivers into driver monitoring system on a consistent basis, while also auditing system.
• Create Badges as needed for new hires and existing employees, in addition to activating them in Salto, and HRIS.
• Assist with monthly Safety Committee meeting preparation and notes.
• Assist with disseminating safety shoes vouchers to employees and process payroll deductions.
• Processes all requirements related to separation emails.
• Maintain monthly safety documents for bonuses and tracks in spreadsheets.
• Track behavior events in Lytx weekly and ensuring accountability policy is applied.
• Conducts New Hire Safety Orientation.
• Orders safety materials or supplies as needed for the facility.
• Collaborate with department supervisors and managers to develop monthly safety talks.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works on special safety projects (Evacuation Drills, Emergency Action Plan Year Update).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Possesses intermediate computer skills. Able to utilize Microsoft Office computer applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publishers. Knowledge of HR Vantage.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent Human Resource and Safety experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Working Conditions:
• Normal office environment.
