Job Description

Questpro is partnering with a well-established commercial real estate owner and operator in Fairfax, VA to add an Assistant Risk Manager to its in-house Risk Management team. This is a corporate risk role on the insured side, not a brokerage or carrier seat.

Our client owns and operates billions of dollars in top-tier, A-rated real estate across Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC and West Virginia. The portfolio spans retail centers, office buildings, multifamily communities, warehouses and self-storage facilities. With roughly 170 employees and a recently completed major acquisition, the company is growing, fast-paced and never boring.

The Risk Management function is modern and forward-thinking. Workflows have been automated through tools like Formstack, and the team actively uses AI tools (including Claude) to work smarter. You will report to a VP of Risk Management who genuinely loves to mentor, train and grow her people.

Location: Fairfax, VA (I-66 and Monument Drive area)

Schedule: Hybrid, 4 days in the office (Monday through Thursday) with Fridays from home. Core hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM also works).

Why candidates join:

  • In-house risk management with real exposure to property, casualty, claims and enterprise risk
  • A leader who invests in training, mentoring and long-term career growth
  • High-quality, A-rated properties and a stable, profitable, growing company
  • A tech-savvy team using automation and AI tools day to day
