Ipswich Borough Council is looking for an Assistant Revenues and Inspection Officer

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our successful Revenues Team as a full-time Assistant Revenues and Inspection Officer.

The Revenues Team is responsible for administering Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, and Housing Benefit Overpayments across our three partner Local Authorities.

The role

Based at Grafton House, Russell Road, Ipswich, with opportunities for hybrid working, you will play a key role in supporting the Revenues Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • maintaining Direct Debit payments

  • tracing non-payers

  • processing and reviewing system-generated reports

  • providing general administrative and operational support to the Revenues Team.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • GCSE Mathematics and English, or equivalent qualifications

  • experience using email, word processing, and spreadsheet software

  • the ability to organise, prioritise, analyse information, and work independently

  • strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach

  • a flexible, positive, and proactive attitude

  • experience using revenues and benefits software systems is desirable.

Working hours

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
