Responsibilities: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring smooth service and efficient workflowManage and supervise staff, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure top-notch customer serviceMonitor inventory levels, manage ordering, and track stock to maintain efficient bar and restaurant operationsEnsure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulationsAssist with scheduling, training, and performance evaluations for restaurant and bar staffHandle guest inquiries and resolve issues or complaints, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for all patronsOversee cash handling, register procedures, and other financial transactions to maintain accurate financial recordsAssist in developing and implementing menu updates, promotions, and seasonal offeringsDevelop and deliver engaging lessons on restaurant and bar management, focusing on both theoretical concepts and practical skillsProvide hands-on training to students in restaurant and bar operations, including customer service, front-of-house management, back-of-house coordination, inventory management, and staff supervisionMonitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and assess performance through practical exercises, assignments, and examsFoster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging student participation and developmentUpdate and refine curriculum to reflect current industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologiesCollaborate with fellow instructors and academic staff to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive training programProvide career guidance and job placement support to students, leveraging industry connections for internship and employment opportunitiesProfile and experiences: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree in Hospitality or Business Management is an advantageMinimum 3 years of experience in restaurant and bar management within the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury or high-end establishments, with a proven track record in leadership, operations, and staff managementAt least 2-3 years of teaching, training, or mentoring experience in a hospitality, culinary, or educational setting, ideally within a recognized academic institution or training environmentSolid background in staff supervision and development, including training new hires, providing feedback, and evaluating performanceExperience in student-centered teaching, with an understanding of how to teach and guide students in both practical and theoretical components of hospitality educationHands-on operational experience in both front-of-house (customer service, guest relations) and back-of-house (inventory, kitchen coordination) within the restaurant and bar industryKnowledge of Swiss hospitality laws, including health, safety, and alcohol regulations specific to the region.Certification in Food Safety and Alcohol Service (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS, or Swiss equivalents such as GastroSuisse certifications) is requiredBartender Certification or equivalent mixology qualifications are highly desirableTeaching Certification or relevant pedagogical training (e.g., adult education, vocational education) is advantageousFluent in English (orally and in written); any other languages is a plusOther information: Location: GIHE Sàrl, Route de Glion 111, 1823 GlionType of contract: undefined period of time contractActivity rate: 100%Start date: 01.10.2026
