Job Description

Boutique Coastal Resort | Lead, Support & Inspire

Nestled on the stunning NSW North Coast, NRMA Angourie Resort offers guests an escape unlike any other. With premium accommodation, a restaurant, day spa, conference and event facilities, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere, we're looking for an experienced hospitality leader to help deliver exceptional guest experiences across every touchpoint of the resort. We're seeking a passionate and hands-on Assistant Manager to partner closely with our Resort Manager and support the day-to-day operation of the resort. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work across multiple departments, support and develop teams, and help create memorable experiences for every guest who visits.

If you thrive in a boutique resort environment, enjoy variety, and love leading from the front, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Permanent onsite accommodation is not available, so we're ideally looking for someone who already lives locally or is planning to relocate to the area.
  • Accommodation assistance may be available on a temporary basis to support relocation, for the right candidate.

What you will do

Working collaboratively with the Resort Manager, you'll provide operational leadership across all areas of the resort. You will:

  • Support the Resort Manager in the day-to-day operation of the resort
  • Lead, coach and develop teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences
  • Foster a positive, engaged and guest-centric team culture
  • Support departmental leaders with rostering, workforce planning and operational priorities
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training of team members
  • Help monitor operational performance, labour costs and departmental budgets
  • Ensure high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service are maintained across the resort
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage, Events and Day Spa teams to maximise guest satisfaction and commercial outcomes
  • Assist in resolving guest concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Champion workplace health, safety and compliance practices

This is a true "all-rounder" leadership role where no two days look the same. One moment you may be supporting a wedding or corporate event, the next you're assisting with a guest issue, coaching a team member, reviewing rosters, or working alongside the restaurant and day spa teams during a busy service period.

What you will bring

We're looking for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys being part of the operation, not sitting on the sidelines. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous leadership experience within a boutique resort, hotel or premium hospitality environment
  • Exposure to Food & Beverage, Events and Functions operations
  • Experience supporting multiple departments within a resort, hotel or tourism business
  • A collaborative leadership style and strong people management skills
  • The ability to build genuine relationships with guests, team members and stakeholders
  • Experience managing guest feedback and resolving issues with professionalism and care
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Financial acumen, including labour management, budgeting and cost control
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety and employment compliance requirements
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to jump in wherever required
