The role involves working on projects associated with Sewerage and Stormwater, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks Pumping Station, Recycling Plant and rehabilitation works. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising & monitoring.
Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:
> Technical Delivery
* Interacting with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements.
* Interacting with contractor, sub-contractor, and laboratory & monitoring construction work on daily basis.
* Control the site inspection and testing and maintaining inspection reports and site test records.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.
* Review and approve Design document and construction plan and procedure.
* Performing civil and structural tests.
* Providing general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare instructions, specifications, and reports and cost estimates.
* Identifying non-conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.
* Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
> Collaboration and working as part of a team.
* Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
* Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations.
* Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate the completion of tasks and projects.
* Good communicator.
> Client Service Management
* Internal and external client Infrastructure liaison
* Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
* Experience in utility diversions and management.
* Proficient in software i.e. excel and MS word
> Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
> Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
> Design for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.
> Other duties as requested from time to time by the Resident Engineer.
Qualifications:
> The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering with Eight (8) years of experience in experience in miscellaneous Drainage Work Projects.
> Experience in SWS Water Infrastructure Projects is an advantage.
