Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE)

Project: Assam Resilient Rural Bridge Program (ARRBP)
Location: Four Project Zones – Assam
Reporting To: Project Manager

Qualification & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Full-time).

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in supervision of bridge / road / rural infrastructure projects.

  • Experience in externally aided projects (World Bank / ADB funded projects preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of IRC, MoRTH, and relevant IS codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overall supervision and contract management of bridge works under ARRBP.

  • Ensure construction activities are executed as per approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.

  • Monitor contractor’s progress, resources, and compliance with safety and environmental safeguards.

  • Review method statements, work programs, and material approvals.

  • Supervise quality control tests and ensure adherence to QA/QC procedures.

  • Verify measurements, IPCs (Interim Payment Certificates), and contractor bills.

  • Identify site issues and provide timely technical solutions.

  • Coordinate with contractors, PIU, design team, and local authorities.

  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and record maintenance.

  • Support in contract administration, variation proposals, and claims management.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of bridge construction methodologies (substructure & superstructure works).

  • Knowledge of contract conditions (FIDIC preferred).

  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with
