What you'll do

In this crucial role, you’ll be assisting Relationship Managers and collaborating with your team to support SME customers, building sustainable, long-term relationships by contributing to intelligent risk taking and delivery of good customer outcomes.

You’ll be contributing to a strong risk management culture, making sure we operate within established governance and processes. Building a network within the bank and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders across end-to-end lending journey and product partners, you’ll also be collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to progress the lending pipeline.

You’ll also be:

  • Carrying out meetings with our Commercial customers, helping to protect them through fraudulent and security reviews
  • Providing Relationship Managers with well researched briefs and information for their customer meetings
  • Supporting the management of our customer contact strategies, through diary planning and booking appointments for our Relationship Managers
  • Building your banking experience by learning about systems, processes and customer products as well as developing your awareness of the Commercial Banking market
  • Contributing to an inclusive and learning focussed culture which includes spending time on your own continuous professional development

Achieving a Certificate in Lending Skills is just one of the ways we’ll help you to thrive in your role as an Assistant Relationship Manager.

A Certificate in Lending Skills is a professional qualification awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers that’s widely recognised across our industry, and designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills relating to the commercial lending environment in our digital age.

With 18 months to complete your studies, you’ll have the ability to tailor a journey to your own individual learning needs too, which will combine self-study in the form of workbooks and e-learning, and workshops.
