THE ROLE

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the primary focus of the Quarry Management team is the safe and efficient operation of our Kulpara Quarry. You will have a genuine interest in the day-to-day leadership, supervision, and challenges of running a hard rock quarry operation, with responsibility for safety performance, production targets, quality control, and continuous improvement. As the Assistant Quarry Manager, you will have an unwavering commitment to safety, along with the ability to support and lead the safety performance and culture across the team and site.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Implementing strategies to achieve WH&S, production, and financial performance targets.
• Assisting in leading, training, and developing the team.
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing quarry development and production plans.
• Ensuring all quarry materials and stockpiles meet Australian Standards, DIT, and customer specifications.
• Providing leadership to ensure all operations are conducted safely in accordance with legislation and Hallett Group OH&S standards.
• Supporting the team to understand and meet all quality, policy, and procedural requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS | EXPERIENCE | CAPABILITIES

• Diploma / Certificate IV in Surface Operations / Extractive Industries or equivalent (preferred).
• Proven leadership capability and strong communication skills.
• A minimum of 5 years of practical and supervisory experience (preferred) in hard rock quarry or mining operations, including managing drill and blast, load and haul, and crushing and screening operations.
• Demonstrated focus on WHS and knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for production equipment.
• Experience in continuous improvement strategies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Willingness to be flexible in meeting the needs of the business.
