Priory Hospital Lincolnshire has an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team.

Priory Hospital Lincolnshire, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire is a low secure unit for males with mental health conditions, supporting patients detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA). It is accessible by public transport, with Gainsborough railway station and local bus links nearby, approximately a 15-minute drive from Gainsborough.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

You will:
  • Support qualified Psychologists with assessments, interventions and person-centred care.
  • Build therapeutic relationships, co-facilitate groups and deliver low-intensity interventions under supervision.
  • Support the planning and evaluation of therapeutic services to promote patients’ mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
  • Work as part of the MDT, contributing to patient care and recovery planning.
  • Maintain clinical records, support outcome measures, audits and research, with regular supervision and professional development.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role
The successful candidate will hold a Psychology degree (minimum 2:1) and ideally have Graduate Basis with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The following experience would be beneficial
Previous experience working in a mental health, healthcare or social care setting is desirable, along with a sound understanding of psychological theory and evidence-based practice

You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships, work effectively within an MDT and manage competing priorities. A compassionate, professional approach and commitment to ongoing learning and development are essential.
