Priory Hospital Arnold has an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team.

Priory Hospital Arnold is a specialist is an inpatient acute and psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU), for males and females struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions.]. Conveniently located in the village of Calverton, in Nottingham and set in extensive grounds. Priory Hospital Arnold is accessible by public transport, with local bus services nearby and Arnold/Nottingham railway stations providing wider regional links to major cities.

What you'll be doing

You will join the team on the PICU ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
  • Completing a range of assessments with patients as part of developing individual treatment formulations and plans
  • Facilitating regular groups on all four wards
  • Completion of collaborative risk assessments with patients primarily focused on risk of suicide/challenging behaviour
  • Contributing to ensuring Priory Healthcare meets best practice on positive behaviour support including carrying out functional analyses and developing/maintaining/monitoring any Positive behavioural support care plans
  • Assisting with specific psychological assessments as needed Contributing to research and audit Legal responsibilities:
  • Other duties required, from time to time, which are relevant to the collection and analysis of data Personal/Professional Responsibilities:
  • Work in such a manner as to ensure a positive and co-operative relationship with all colleagues, patients and visitors.
  • Ensure accurate communication with staff, patients and outside agencies. •Have access to a wide range of confidential information, which must not be divulged to any unauthorised person, in any circumstances.
  • Abide by the legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. •
  • Be required to conform to Priory Healthcare policies and procedures

Applicants must hold a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited degree in Psychology.
