
SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education, one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong, offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis, the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time instructors. The School is inviting applications for the following position:
Assistant Project Manager/Senior Executive Officer (25260546)
Reporting to the Dean and Associate Dean, the appointee will support a strategic development project, which is expected to be finalised in a year or so and will lead to a structural change of the School. Once this strategic development is solidified, it is planned that the role will evolve with a long-term prospect.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in collecting, organizing, and preparing data related to academic, financial, and operational activities;
• Support the team in compiling data for basic reporting and analysis;
• Contribute to administrative tasks in support of planning activities;
• Help coordinate meeting logistics and documentation for internal committees and working groups; and
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across different teams and sections to support project coordination and information sharing.
Requirements:
• A recognised degree plus at least 3 years of relevant work experience for Senior Executive Officer;
• Previous work experience in tertiary education and knowledge on the development of the self-financing post-secondary education sector will be a definite advantage;
• Very good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
• High competency in computer applications and compilation of statistical data;
• Well-organised, detail-minded, highly self-motivated, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision; and
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Applicants with more relevant experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Project Manager.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
