Job Description

Our client, a semi-state organization, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Limerick The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of a major infrastructure project, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely execution. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to progress into project management. The preferred candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

1. Support the Project Manager in planning and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
2. Assist in preparing and managing project budgets and schedules.
3. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
4. Monitor project progress and report on key milestones.
5. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
6. Prepare project documentation, including risk assessments and method statements.
7. Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide technical input.
8. Identify and resolve issues to maintain project timelines.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance processes.

Requirements:

1. Degree in Building, Engineering, Construction, or Project Management.
2. Membership of Engineers Ireland or similar professional body.
3. Minimum 5 years’ project engineering experience in a relevant environment.
4. Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
5. Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and stakeholder coordination.
6. Full, clean driving license.
