The Division of Public Policy at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support community engagement activities and related project operations for the Jockey Club Shining Together with Cross-Cultural Youth Project. The appointee will work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven project environment, where priorities are closely tied to activity cycles, implementation timelines, project deliverables and performance targets.

The appointee will support the planning, coordination and delivery of project activities. The role also involves participant recruitment and engagement, programme administration, publicity, record management and collaboration with project partners.

Major Duties

• Plan, coordinate and implement outreach activities, including street booths, community events, workshops and Train-the-Trainer programmes, adapting delivery approaches to participants’ needs and profiles.
• Recruit and engage participants through schools, NGOs, community organisations, social media and other appropriate channels, and maintain communication and follow-up throughout the programme cycle.
• Manage programme arrangements and on-site implementation, including schedules, venues, materials, trainers, community partners, participants, helpers, transportation and other activity logistics.
• Manage substantial project operations and administration, including attendance and participant records, programme requirements and follow-up, evaluation data, activity evidence, partner documentation, output tracking, filing and monitoring of implementation timelines.
• Support online and offline publicity, including social media content, recruitment materials, activity updates, webpage content and other promotional materials, and communicate with team members and external partners to facilitate publicity.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Applicants should possess a recognized Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience in project coordination, community services, programme administration, youth services, mental health, training or related fields.
• Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be proactive, reliable and attentive to detail, and be able to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Experience in coordinating, delivering or facilitating workshops, outreach programmes, training activities or community events is preferred.
• Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage programme logistics, participant follow-up, records, outputs and multiple priorities independently.
• Experience working with non-Chinese communities and preparing publicity materials or social media content would be an advantage.

The position requires occasional work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends, to support project activities and events at various locations across Hong Kong, as assigned.

(This is a project-based temporary appointment until 28 February 2027 and is non-renewable beyond the project period)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave and medical benefit will be provided where applicable.
