NexGen is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to the Concrete division! This role requires travel.

NexGen Contracting is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to play a vital role in our operations. This position is involved in various stages of the project lifecycle, including pre-construction, execution, and close-out. The role demands a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and is driven to exceed expectations while fostering teamwork and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction science, construction management, engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university and 1 year of experience in construction, or 5 years of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, MS Project, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, CMIC is a preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time and be based on a project site.
  • Effective planning and resource management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to monitor construction schedules and identify potential issues.
  • Proactive in promoting and ensuring workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project safety compliance.
  • Understand job cost spread and project estimates.
  • Participate in project sequencing and scheduling.
  • Track project progress and analyze production.
  • Engage in project cost reporting.
  • Handle invoice coding and approval.
  • Oversee material/equipment procurement.
  • Manage change order requests and tracking.
  • Coordinate with general contractors/owners.
  • Assist with reporting requirements, including field time and productivity, materials, safety, and other relevant aspects.

While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, and talk or hear. They are regularly required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include accurate near and distant vision.

Frequently in a normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. May be exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and/or heat, risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibrations. Noise level on the job site is normally moderate to loud. Overtime will be required. Travel will be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
