About the Role
Babcock is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of the JP9101 Legacy Software Support program. In this role, you will provide essential project, commercial, and contract support to the Project Manager and broader program team, helping ensure successful delivery of key outcomes for one of Australia’s critical defence capabilities.
You will assist with project planning, cost and schedule management, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and contract governance. This role is ideal for a project professional with solid foundational experience who is ready to step into a more complex environment and expand their capability under the guidance of experienced project leaders.
Working within established procedures and frameworks, you will apply your project management knowledge to support the development of estimates, maintain project documentation, contribute to risk and change management, and help ensure compliance with commercial and contractual requirements.
About You
You are a proactive and detail‑oriented project professional with at least three years’ experience in project administration or coordination. You bring strong communication skills, excellent time management, and the ability to analyse and report on commercial and project data.
You thrive in a structured, project‑driven environment and enjoy working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. You are confident engaging with stakeholders, supporting project governance, and contributing to continuous improvement. Experience in the defence sector is highly regarded.
