About the Position:

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, within the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences at Baylor University, invites applications and nominations for a full-time Tenure Track Faculty position in Speech-Language Pathology to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Primary expertise in medical speech-language pathology is preferred, particularly in pediatric feeding and swallowing or neurogenic communication disorders, including cognitive-communication disorders. Candidates with expertise in other areas of speech-language pathology, such as speech sound disorders, are also encouraged to apply. The position will include teaching and research responsibilities, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across Baylor’s R1 research environment. Academic rank for this position will be at Assistant Professor level. 

Salary and Review Date

About the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders offers residential bachelor’s, residential and online master’s, and PhD degrees in Speech-Language Pathology; the program is CAA certified. Currently, the program is comprised of more than 300 undergraduate students, 75 residential graduate students, over 300 online graduate students, and twelve PhD students.

Qualifications

Required

• A Doctorate (Ph.D./Ed.D.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Speech and Hearing Sciences, or closely related field is required.
• Qualified candidates should have academic credentials commensurate with an appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
• The successful candidate will be expected to continue building upon a strong track record of interdisciplinary and collaborative research, scholarly productivity, and a demonstrated ability to secure extramural funding.
• In accordance with the university’s faith mission, to be considered, applicants must show evidence of an active Christian or Jewish faith.

Preferred

• Primary expertise in pediatric feeding and swallowing or cognitive communication is preferred.
• Experience in teaching and/or research is preferred.
• Certification by ASHA (CCC-SLP) and eligibility for Texas State licensure are preferred.
• Special consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong foundation in research, publishing, and teaching excellence in communication sciences and disorders.
