University of Colorado AnschutzDepartment: Department of Physical Medicine & RehabilitationJob Title: Assistant Professor (Tenure Eligible Track)Position #:00853514 – Requisition #: 41261Job Summary:The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Anschutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado is seeking highly motivated and accomplished scientists for a full-time faculty position. Successful candidates will join a collaborative and multidisciplinary team focused on advancing the care of children and adolescents with acquired brain injuries. Key Responsibilities:· Lead an independent research program with a well-funded research portfolio that is sustained through extramural grant acquisition.· Submitting grant proposals to NIH and other federal and industry sponsors· Conducting research in compliance with sponsors and University protocols. · Publish groundbreaking, innovative research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.· Working with the CHCO Research Institute and PM&R Department on strategic priorities for the research program· Contribute to the academic mission of the Department through teaching, curriculum development, and service on committees.· Provide clinical patient care at CHCO in the area of research focus (estimated at 0.25 FTE)Work Location:Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO. Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.· MD/PhD degree with minimum of 2 years of research experience in research focused on Neuro-rehabilitation· Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine· Completion of a Combined Residency in Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACGME accredited)· Board Eligible or Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, and Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine· Ability to obtain license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges by the time of hireKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:· Ability to develop collaborative or independent research projects· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment· Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and mentorship skills· Ability to provide educational knowledge and skills to various learners· Knowledge of standard inpatient and outpatient clinical operations and procedures; diagnosis of common pediatric rehabilitation disorders and diseasesConditions of Employment: (Optional Statement)· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
