Job Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to join its clinical faculty. The appointee will have clinical responsibilities across the University of Chicago Medicine health system, with a combination of outpatient pulmonary practice and inpatient responsibilities at UChicago Medicine Hyde Park location (CCD) and Ingalls Memorial Hospital and affiliated ambulatory locations. Inpatient responsibilities will primarily include attending coverage in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at UCM Hyde Park and at Ingalls Memorial Hospital and may include pulmonary consult and procedure service based on clinical need. Ambulatory responsibilities will include the evaluation and longitudinal management of patients with a broad range of pulmonary conditions.

The appointee will work collaboratively with Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine faculty and clinical teams across the health system. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity appropriate to the appointee's academic interests and career goals.

Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board Certified or Eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

We especially welcome a physician completing fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine who are interested in developing a clinical practice that includes both ambulatory pulmonary medicine and inpatient pulmonary and critical care.
