
The Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, invites applications for a faculty physician with an interest in pediatric hand and microsurgery as well as hand surgery at the Veterans Administration. Specific duties include establishing a growing practice at Children’s Medical Center, Dallas as well as overseeing the plastic surgery and hand surgical practice at the Dallas VAMC. This position requires independently operating, and staffing of residents in major reconstructive surgical procedures. Other responsibilities include conducting outpatient clinics: participate in didactic sessions, seminars and rounds with plastic surgery residents, development of basic science and clinical research expertise and development of an academic practice.
Qualification
Applicants should have leadership, collaborative, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to make important contributions to the field of plastic surgery, as well as the flexibility to meet the needs of a large and dynamic department. Candidates must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., must be board certified or board eligible in Plastic Surgery and be eligible for Texas medical licensure.
