Job Description

Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics beginning August 2027. Appointment is for nine months per year (mid-August to mid- May). The rank will be Assistant Professor or Instructor, depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess or be close to completing a doctorate degree in mathematics or a closely related field. We seek candidates able to teach a broad selection of undergraduate mathematics courses, including calculus, linear algebra, introduction to proof, real analysis, and advanced topics that build on analysis; to develop new electives and guide future curriculum development; to mentor students in undergraduate research; and to contribute to the College’s general education program, Connections. Excellence in teaching and evidence of scholarly achievement are essential. Faculty teach five courses per year, maintain active research programs, and contribute to the College’s shared governance.
