
The Department of Political Science invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Comparative Politics with a focus on African politics beginning fall 2027. We seek broadly trained candidates who will have completed a Ph.D. by the time of appointment and who are prepared to teach the introductory course in comparative politics as well as a variety of upper-level courses on African politics. Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly potential.
As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also periodically contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College including, but not limited to, committee membership and, once tenured, serving as Director or Chair of a Program or Department when asked.
