Job Description

~The Department of Politics and International Relations at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor level in the field of International Relations beginning Fall 2016. We seek an International Relations scholar with expertise in areas including international organizations, global governance, and/or international political economy. We encourage candidates with relevant professional experience outside of higher education (e.g., in government or non-governmental organizations) to apply, but such experience is not required. The teaching load is five courses per year, including a course attached to the College’s National Model United Nations program. Ability to teach a course on quantitative and qualitative methods in political science would be considered a strong plus. The new faculty member will be expected to supervise student research and internships and to participate in teaching the college’s first-year seminar (Common Intellectual Experience).

Qualifications

~Required qualifications: 1) a conferred Ph.D. in Political Science by the beginning of the Fall 2016 semester, 2) demonstrated potential for teaching excellence; 3) demonstrated potential for research and publication.
