
The Department of Economics at the University of Virginia invites applications for a full-time faculty position on the tenure track, beginning August 10, 2027, at the Assistant Professor rank. This search will consider candidates in the fields of microeconomic theory and/or industrial organization.
We seek candidates with the skills and experience to advance the research and teaching mission in a world-class institution. The Department aims to recruit faculty dedicated to building and extending a top-tier research portfolio. We value ambitious scholars equipped to build on the intellectually vibrant community of economists at the University. The duties of the position include teaching three courses per year in addition to advising, mentoring, and service.
Candidates must have received a Ph.D. by the start of the appointment. A successful candidate will show a strong research record and an ability to teach and advise effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
