Job Description

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for an Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders to begin Fall 2027.

This is a 9-month tenure-track position. Primary duties will include teaching assigned courses in Communication Sciences and Disorders program; evaluating students’ progress in coursework; completing the administrative aspects of assigned courses; supervising field-based students or student internship when needed; demonstrating scholarly productivity through publications in referred journals and attendance at professional conferences and meetings; and assisting in the development of a Master's program. Duties also include providing service to the department, college and university. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from a regionally accredited institution. ABDs will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment. Candidates must demonstrate potential for teaching, peer-reviewed scholarship, external funding, and supporting first-generation students, and hold or be eligible for Texas SLP licensure and/or ASHA CCC-SLP certification.

Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
